Ashleigh K to play Pinkfields

Singer songwriter Ashleigh K has been confirmed to play at Pinkfields the LGBT weekend festival on the 24th and 25th of May in Barnsley.

Having begun her music career at the age of six when she started learning to play the violin and singing.  Ashleigh K has gone on to gain many qualifications in music which has led to her touring the USA and performing at ‘Carnegie Hall’ and the ‘Lincoln Plaza,’ with her college orchestra at the age of sixteen.

In 2003 Ashleigh K moved to London to undertake a degree in Popular Music Performance;

It was whilst in London that she changed her technique and found her real interest was in Popular music. Since graduating Ashleigh has been working with a number of artists whilst also developing her own material.

Ashleigh K’s  first single release was called Truth, The music video for which was shot by Legendary LA film director Mark Tierney during a Met raid of Shoreditch bars in London on a rowdy Friday night and has already received over 11,000 views.

Her next video ‘Cowboy’ was released in December 2012 and was shot in ‘Desert Hot Springs’ in LA. The video has been played on MTV2, Fuse and is now on the Vevo music channel and to date has well over 340,000 views on Youtube.

Her latest release ‘Knock Me Down’ was released in March 2013 and was shot in Downtown LA. Ashleigh has been busy perfoming on the live circuit for the past year and has performed at ‘Westfield Stratford Shopping Centre’ for Breast Cancer Care and ‘Aura Mayfair’ for the ‘Music meets Fashion’ event as well as appearing London fashion week 2013 to name a few.

Other London venues that ashleigh has appeared at include ‘The Underbelly’ Hoxton, ‘The Worshop’ Old Street and ‘The Garage’ Islington.

Ashleigh is sponsored by Italian Street wear clothes designer Umberto Bruno and undertook a tour of Salento, Italy in August 2013 where she performed at the ‘Soulfood Festival’ as their headline act.
