Clare Balding named Patron for diversity charity

Clare Balding has been named Patron for Diversity Role Models, a charity which aims to stamp out homophobic bullying through education in schools. The TV presenter joins a list of other Patrons, which includes Claire Harvey, Gareth Thomas and Alison Moyet. About the appointment, Clare says, ‘I am delighted to be a patron of a charity doing such essential work with young people. You can change the law but it is attitudes that are at the heart of society… only by changing attitudes do we make real progress.’ The charity is holding its annual fundraising carnival and auction on October 24 this year.
